Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and Sadeed for your use of the Balsam app. By creating an account you accept them. If you don’t, please don’t use Balsam.

Who can use Balsam

You must be 18 or older, and able to enter into a contract where you live. One person, one account. Don’t create an account for someone else, and don’t let anyone else use yours.

What Balsam is — and isn’t

Balsam is a platform that connects people who want to talk with listeners who are willing to listen. Listeners are independent individuals, not our employees, and they are not doctors, therapists, counsellors, or crisis workers. Nothing said on Balsam is medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice.

Your account

Give accurate registration details and keep your password to yourself. You’re responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us at support@sadeed.org if you think someone else has access to it.

Coins, calls, and payments

Coins are a prepaid in-app balance. They are not money, they have no cash value outside Balsam, and they cannot be transferred to another person or exchanged back into currency.

• Calls are charged per minute at the rate shown before the call starts. Coins are deducted while the call is connected.
• Chat is free for an initial period, after which it is charged per minute at the rate shown in the app.
• Every deduction appears in coin history. Check there first if a balance looks wrong.
• Purchases are processed by Apple, Google, or the card provider enabled in your region, and their terms apply to the transaction.
• Rates, coin prices, and package contents can change. Changes never apply to a call already in progress.

Refunds

Coin purchases are generally final. Where a purchase was made through Apple or Google, refunds are handled under their policies, and you should request one from them. If coins were deducted because of a fault on our side — a call that never connected, a double charge — email us and we will credit them back.

If you are a listener

Listeners apply, are reviewed, and may be approved or declined at our discretion. Approved listeners earn coins for the calls and chats they take, subject to the platform commission shown in the app. Earnings can be converted and withdrawn once they pass the minimum balance. We may withhold or reverse earnings that come from fraudulent, faked, or abusive activity. Listeners are independent and are responsible for their own taxes.

How to behave

While using Balsam, do not:

• Harass, threaten, insult, or intimidate anyone.
• Post or send sexual content involving minors — ever, under any framing.
• Send sexual content or solicit sexual services from another user.
• Share someone else’s private information, or record a call without consent.
• Impersonate another person, or pretend to be a medical professional.
• Advertise, recruit, spam, or try to move users to another service.
• Attempt to inflate call time, reviews, or earnings artificially.
• Break the law, or attempt to break, probe, or overload our systems.

Report anything that crosses these lines. Open the person’s profile and choose Report or Block, or email support@sadeed.org. We review every report.

Suspension and closure

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or where we reasonably suspect fraud or a risk to another person. Where the breach is serious we may do so without notice. Unused coins on an account closed for a breach of these terms are not refunded.

You can close your own account at any time from Settings → Delete account, or by asking us to do it.

Content you provide

Your profile, photos, voice sample, and messages remain yours. You give us permission to store and display them inside Balsam so the service can work. You confirm you have the right to whatever you upload.

Availability

We work to keep Balsam running, but we can’t promise it will be uninterrupted or free of faults. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. Balsam depends on your internet connection and your device, which are outside our control.

Liability

Balsam is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, Sadeed is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for what another user says or does, or for decisions you take following a conversation on Balsam. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and we’ll notify you in the app when a change is significant. Continuing to use Balsam after a change means you accept it.

Who you are contracting with

Balsam is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], registered in [COUNTRY] under commercial registration [REGISTRATION NUMBER], at [REGISTERED ADDRESS].

Governing law

These terms are governed by [GOVERNING LAW]. Any dispute arising from them will be heard by [COMPETENT COURTS OR ARBITRATION FORUM].
